Designing a New Dialysis Treatment Center

Proctor Professional Building : Peoria, Illinois

PROJECT SIZE & COST

14 Dialysis Stations | $925,309

THE CHALLENGE
The Proctor Professional Building needed to renovate its existing basement space into a new dialysis treatment center. The ceiling height brought challenges, as there was very limited space to fit and arrange the necessary utilities. The new center also required a specialized reverse osmosis water system (RO) to accommodate the dialysis process. There was also an ongoing, building HVAC replacement project occurring at the same time, creating difficulty in our mechanical system designs.

KED SOLUTION : Coordinating to Overcome Design Challenges
We coordinated with the HVAC replacement team, to ensure a seamless HVAC system design for the new dialysis center. Through detailed coordination, we were able to fit all utilities within the ceiling space, hiding them from public view. We designed the reverse osmosis water system to accommodate the dialysis treatment process. As a result, the Proctor Professional Building now has a dedicated space for dialysis treatment, helping to increase comfort and efficiency for patients.
