Designing Gibson Area Hospital’s New Medical Office Building

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Medical Office Building : Gibson City, Illinois

PROJECT SIZE & COST

34,000 square feet | $9 million

THE CHALLENGE
Gibson Area Hospital and Health needed to add a medical office building (MOB) on to its existing building in order to better serve its community’s needs. Although the MOB would be attached to the hospital, it was to be designed with entirely new, separate MEP/FP systems. The MOB needed to house many different departments and services, so the system designs needed to accommodate the specific needs of each space.

KED SOLUTION : Thoughtful Designs for Varying Needs
We created thoughtful system designs, ensuring our systems would accommodate the various needs of each space. The MOB systems were designed separate of the hospital’s systems, allowing the two buildings to operate independently of one another. As a result of the project, Gibson Area Hospital and Health now has a fully functional medical office building that offers offices of general surgery and orthopedic surgery; services of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, a new infusion center, and a cardiology department, as well as comfort and convenience for their patients.
